FAMBRAS Attends the Inauguration of the New President of the STF, Minister Edson Fachin, and Vice-President Alexandre de Moraes

The Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS) attended the solemn inauguration ceremony of Minister Edson Fachin as President of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and the National Justice Council (CNJ), and Minister Alexandre de Moraes as Vice-President, held on Monday (September 29) in the Court’s Plenary in Brasília. The Federation was represented by its Legal Director, Dr. Mohamed Charanek.

The ceremony brought together representatives of the three branches of government, governors, and authorities from different political spectrums. They will lead both institutions during the 2025–2027 term.

Authorities present included the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin, and federal ministers such as Fernando Haddad (Finance) and Simone Tebet (Planning and Budget).

“During the inauguration, President Minister Edson Fachin not only assumed a position – he reaffirmed the commitment to the highest standards of justice, democracy, and the hope for a more equitable and integral country,” highlighted Dr. Mohamed Charanek.

FAMBRAS’ participation in the event reinforces its institutional commitment to citizenship, justice, and Brazilian democracy, wishing success to the new STF and CNJ leaders in their duties.
