FAMBRAS Strengthens Commitment to Refugee Inclusion at the 4th Annual Companies with Refugees Forum
On Thursday, October 2, FAMBRAS participated in the 4th Annual Companies with Refugees Forum. The Federation was represented by Delduque Martins, Director of Projects and Institutional Relations, and project analysts Ana Mariano and Juliana Intini.
The 2025 edition focused on the theme “Joint Actions that Transform the Lives of People Forced to Displace”, discussed across four panels and five lectures throughout the day. The event also included networking sessions, artistic performances, and fairs aimed at promoting the protagonism of refugees.
The opening was led by Davide Torzilli, UNHCR Representative in Brazil; Daniela Grelin, Executive Director of the Global Compact Network Brazil; and Rita Dicacia Câmara, Coordinator of Refugee Policies at the National Committee for Refugees of the Department of Migration, National Justice Secretariat.
Panel 1: “Committed Leadership in Refugee Inclusion” was moderated by special reporter Fernanda Mena (Folha de S. Paulo) and included Antonietta Varlese (Senior Vice-President, Sustainability, Communication, and Institutional Relations, Accor Americas), Laurent Delache (CEO, Foundever Brazil), and Renata Amaral (Sustainability, Diversity, and Social Investment Manager, Grupo Pão de Açúcar).
Panel 2: “Intersectionality in Refugee Inclusion” was moderated by Reinaldo Bulgarelli, Executive Secretary of the Forum of Companies and LGBTI+ Rights, with contributions from Djalma Scartezini (CEO, Business Network for Social Inclusion), Helen Faquinetti (Leader, Generations and Future of Work Forum), Lilian Rauld (Volunteer Director, Movimento Mulher 360), and Raphael Vicente (General Director, Business Initiative for Racial Equality).
Panel 3: “Hubs Consolidate Forum Expansion” was moderated by Paulo Sérgio Almeida, UNHCR Livelihoods and Economic Inclusion Officer, with participants Aline Calefi Lima (Social Responsibility Manager, Fiep System, Paraná Hub Leader) and Túlio Duarte (President, Instituto Hermanitos, Amazonas Hub Leader).
Panel 4: “Refugees as Key to Socioeconomic Development” was moderated by TV Cultura journalist Joyce Ribeiro and featured Lívia Félix de Mattos (Private Sector Relations Manager, UNICEF 1MiO Initiative), Lieutenant Colonel Magno Braços (Head of Strategic Communication, Operação Acolhida), Rafaela Generoso (People Manager, Emflora), and Thiago Motta (Director, Department of Labor, Employment, and Income, Ministry of Labor).
The event also included lectures on stories of resilience, research on inclusion and autonomy of refugee professionals, women’s empowerment in the Empowering Refugees project, and advances of the Companies with Refugees Forum, alongside reflections on generating collective impact in support of forcibly displaced persons.
Recognition of Best Practices in the Companies with Refugees Forum and a fair featuring refugee entrepreneurs were also part of the event. The closing was led by Gabriela Almeida (Executive Manager of Human Rights and Labor, Global Compact Network Brazil) and Vanessa Tarantini (Development Assistant Officer, UNHCR).
FAMBRAS’ participation reaffirmed its commitment to refugee social inclusion and reinforced its mission to promote dignity, opportunities, and active participation for those forced to rebuild their lives.
