FAMBRAS Submits Activity Reports to Institutional Partners: Ministry of Justice and Public Security and UNHCR

Last Friday (September 19), in Brasília, FAMBRAS – represented by the Director of Projects and Institutional Relations, Delduque Martins – submitted the Activity Report to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) at the General Coordination of the National Committee for Refugees (CG-CONARE). The meeting was attended by Amarilis Tavares Busch (General Coordination of CONARE), Rita Camara (Coordination of Refugee Policies – CPR), and Julianna Godinho Dalle Coutinho (Division of Durable Solutions – DSD).

The primary objective of this partnership is to enhance the reception, assistance, and integration of migrants and refugees arriving in Brazil. Planned actions include cooperation for the development, execution, and management of projects; professional training of migrants and refugees for the labor market; support for employability with interested companies; language reception programs; and initiatives aimed at the healthcare of beneficiaries.

This agreement represents an important step in strengthening collaboration between the MJSP and the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS), consolidating the commitment of both institutions to inclusive and integrative policies.

Following the agenda, the activity report was also submitted to UNHCR – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in a meeting attended by Pablo Mattos (Associate Government Relations Officer), Paulo Sergio de Almeida (Livelihoods and Economic Inclusion Officer), and Andrea Zamur (Resettlement Officer).

The agreement with UNHCR aims at the joint development of initiatives that strengthen protection, assistance, and educational, labor, and cultural inclusion of refugees and others in need of international protection in Brazil. Through the FAMBRAS Group’s network, it also seeks to expand initiatives in professional training, employability, and entrepreneurship, as well as to enhance projects such as the Companies with Refugees Forum and the Refugee Entrepreneurs platform, led by UNHCR and the Global Compact in Brazil.

Through these partnerships, FAMBRAS reaffirms its commitment to serve as a link between public institutions, international organizations, and civil society, contributing to greater opportunities for integration, dignity, and quality of life for migrants and refugees in Brazil.
